EquaFrame Gallery – Accessibility Compliant Photo Gallery

Description

  • Four layouts: Grid (uniform tiles with preset ratios), Masonry, Mosaic and Slideshow (full image with arrows/dots, or large image with a scrollable thumbnail film strip above, below, left or right).
  • Add images from the media library; drag rows to reorder; titles, alt text, captions and CSS IDs autosave.
  • Columns for desktop, tablet and phone; spacing that scales down with screen size to a minimum you choose.
  • Rounded corners (px or %), border (thickness, color, line style), shadow with live preview, optional hover zoom.
  • Keyboard- and screen-reader-friendly lightbox with backdrop, caption and close-button options (pick the icon from a set of Font Awesome icons, and choose its icon, background and border colors).
  • Styles & CSS tab listing every CSS class, with a description and a copyable selector for each gallery, ready to paste into WordPress’s Additional CSS.

Using a gallery

Changelog

1.0.2

  • Changed: the plugin is now called EquaFrame Gallery – Accessibility Compliant Photo Gallery (new folder, text domain, shortcode [equaframe] and internal prefixes).
  • Changed: the Styles & CSS tab no longer accepts CSS. It lists every CSS class, where it is used and a copyable selector for each gallery, to paste into WordPress’s Additional CSS.
  • Changed: gallery CSS is now added with wp_add_inline_style() instead of a <style> tag in the page.
  • Changed: every CSS class, script handle and JavaScript variable now uses a distinctive prefix of at least four characters.

1.0.1

  • New: “Screen reader announcement” setting on the Lightbox tab. Choose whether screen readers hear the image’s alt text, title or caption when a photo is enlarged or changed. If the chosen text is empty, the alt text, then the title, then the caption is used.
  • Fix: Screen readers announced the image title (often the file name) instead of the alt text. Alt text is now the default.

1.0.0

  • First release.
