Editor Block Outline

This is a simple Gutenberg plugin that adds an outline around each block. Outline settings are based on user meta. Each user can
change the settings according to their needs.

Users can change:

  • When to show outline. On hover or always.
  • Disable outline completley.
  • Change outline color.
  • Change outline style to solid, dashed or dotted line
  • Show/hide block name

  • Outline around each block when set to always visible
  • User options

I literally was planning to do the same with CSS - add dashed borders to the containers in gutenberg, this is so much more useful: opacity, colours, on-hover, permanent - I consider it essential! (And should definitely be core). Great work and thank you!

Definitely should be part of core. Takes away the frustration of trying to figure out where one block ends and another begins. Thank you.

Such a simple and effective improvement to the sometimes painful block editor UX. This plugin does one thing and it does it well. This functionality should be in core. Thank you for your work on this and sharing it with the community.

Do you want to know the feeling of driving while drunk, or to move around with blinders on? Then use Gutenberg without this plugin !!! Thank you for this plugin, it's perfect.
