Description
Dutify improves the international shopping experience for your customers by enabling live duty and tax calculations directly in your WooCommerce checkout.
When a customer from another country places an order, Dutify automatically calculates the applicable import duties, sales taxes, excise taxes, and additional charges, giving your customers full cost transparency before they complete their purchase.
Key Features
- Live duty & tax calculation – Real-time landed cost calculations in cart and checkout
- Accurate duties and taxes – Calculations include import duty, sales taxes (VAT/GST), excise duties, and other government charges
- DDP & DDU support – Display duty estimates with or without charging them (Delivery Duty Paid/Unpaid)
- Handling fees – Optionally configure and display carrier handling fees as a separate fee in checkout
- Per-product exemptions – Exclude specific products from duty and tax calculations
- HS code tracking – Automatically assign HS codes to your inventory so every shipment is classified
- Customizable labels – Configure the labels shown to customers in cart and checkout
How It Works
- Install the plugin and enter your Dutify API token.
- Configure which taxes to calculate (import duty, sales tax, excise, etc.).
- Dutify automatically detects international orders and calculates duties at checkout.
Requirements
- WooCommerce 7.0 or higher
- A Dutify account – Sign up here: https://dutify.com/partner
- An API token from your Dutify account settings page
External Services
This plugin connects to the Dutify API (https://dutify.com) to calculate import duties and taxes for cross-border WooCommerce orders. This is required for the plugin to function and requires a Dutify API token.
When a duty/tax calculation runs, at the cart, at checkout, and when an administrator uses the “Recalculate Duties & Taxes” button, the following data is sent to the Dutify API:
- The origin (store) country and the destination country/state of the order
- The order currency and shipping cost
- Your store name
- For each non-exempt item: the product title, unit price, quantity, and any Dutify classification, HS code, or country-of-origin attributes you have set
- The visitor’s browser User-Agent string (sent as a request header for diagnostics)
No data is sent unless the plugin is enabled and an API token is configured.
