Description
Digital Fuse Lead Signal for WooCommerce works with your Lead Signal account.
- Adds an unticked checkbox at checkout: “Send me order updates and offers from your shop on WhatsApp”. Works with the classic checkout and the Checkout block.
- Saves the shopper’s answer on the order.
- Once a shopper has typed a phone number at checkout, sends the cart to Lead Signal; if they leave without paying, Lead Signal can send one reminder on WhatsApp.
- Suggests text for your privacy policy (Settings, Privacy).
- Tells Lead Signal when the order is placed, so no reminder is sent for a cart that was paid for.
The plugin does nothing until you connect your shop from Lead Signal (Settings, Store, Connect WooCommerce). Before that it adds no checkbox and sends nothing anywhere.
Compatible with High-Performance Order Storage and the Cart and Checkout blocks.
External services
This plugin connects to the Lead Signal service (https://app.thedigitalfuse.com) that you connect your shop to. It is a service run by Digital Fuse, the plugin’s author.
What is sent: the cart’s contents (product and variation ids, names, quantities, prices, total and currency), the shopper’s phone number, name and email address as typed at checkout, whether the shopper ticked the WhatsApp opt-in box, and an anonymous cart token. When an order is placed, the cart token and the order number are sent.
When: only after the shop owner has connected the shop to Lead Signal, and only while a shopper is at checkout and has typed a phone number. Nothing is sent before the shop is connected, and nothing is sent for shoppers who have not typed a phone number.
Why: so Lead Signal can send order updates and cart reminders on WhatsApp for your shop, and stop reminders once the order is placed.
Disconnecting the shop (WooCommerce, Lead Signal, Disconnect) stops all sending.

Installation
- Install and activate the plugin. WooCommerce must be active.
- In Lead Signal, open Settings, Store, and choose Connect WooCommerce.
- Approve the connection on your WordPress screen. The plugin is configured automatically.
- Check WooCommerce, Lead Signal: it should say “Connected to Lead Signal”.

Does the plugin send anything before I connect?

No. Until the shop is connected from Lead Signal there is no checkbox and no request leaves your site.

How do I stop it?

Open WooCommerce, Lead Signal and press Disconnect, or deactivate the plugin.

Where is the opt-in saved?

On each order, as the custom field _ls_whatsapp_optin with the value yes or no.
