Description
Ship Together gives WooCommerce shops a complete manual holding workflow. Signed-in customers pay for eligible products now and view their paid held orders in My Account. The shop agrees delivery and any shipping charge directly with the customer, groups whole orders into a manual parcel, and records dispatch.
Original product orders, invoices and payments stay intact. A separate zero-total fulfilment record connects the purchases without collecting another payment for the goods or claiming that separately arranged shipping was free.
Included in Free
- Hold option in classic checkout and Checkout Blocks, with your holding policy.
- Customer Held purchases page and shipment history.
- Paid goods, stock and refunds remain on their original WooCommerce orders.
- Branded store dashboard for held purchases and manually arranged parcels.
- Group whole orders for one customer and one recipient/address.
- Record dispatch with optional tracking, complete original orders and send a dispatch email.
- Validation and duplicate protection before dispatch, with recovery for delayed payment updates.
- WooCommerce HPOS and legacy order storage support.
Optional Pro add-on
A separate Pro plugin adds customer-selected shipping requests and later shipping payments, a base-plus-weight rate with WooCommerce tax, order/weight limits, reminder emails, and combined packing slips. Free is fully usable without Pro. No premium code or licence client is included in this Free package.
Existing customer shipping payments, refunds, eligible cancellations, dispatch and saved tracking remain manageable in Free if Pro is deactivated. New customer quotes require Pro; manual parcels remain available to the shop.
Scope
Signed-in customers, one store currency, the store base country, and paid in-stock simple or variable physical products. Orders must share a customer, recipient, shipping address and compatible tax details. Whole orders are grouped. Live carrier quotes, label purchasing, international consolidation, backorders, preorders, deposits, split shipping packages, mixed virtual/unsupported carts and multi-currency are not included. Cash on delivery does not establish a paid hold.
New holds are paused by default. This Free plugin has no external API or licence connection. It uses WooCommerce orders, the shop’s selected payment gateway and its email configuration.

FAQ
-
Is a hold free shipping?
-
No. Free arranges shipping separately with the shop; it does not collect that charge. Manual parcels explicitly say shipping is arranged separately. Pro lets customers review and pay a later shipping quote in My Account.
-
Does this merge paid orders?
-
No. Product purchases and invoices stay on the original orders. A separate fulfilment record connects them for dispatch. Stock is not reduced again when the parcel is sent.
-
Can Free collect a manual shipping fee?
-
Free records fulfilment only. Agree and collect any delivery payment through your existing process before recording dispatch. Pro provides the integrated customer shipping-payment workflow.
-
What happens after a change or refund?
-
Changed source purchases invalidate unpaid requests; paid or prepared requests enter Needs review and cannot dispatch. Resolve original-order changes before preparing a new parcel. Fully refund an undispatched paid shipping request in WooCommerce to release eligible held goods. Shop managers can reset eligible undispatched zero-total/manual parcels. The plugin never automatically refunds or dispatches.
-
What if dispatch was interrupted?
-
Check the shipping order notes, every source order and the physical parcel. The request stays blocked for manual review so purchases cannot enter a second parcel accidentally. Refunding an interrupted dispatch does not automatically reopen its goods.
-
Does deleting Pro lose purchases or payments?
-
No. Keep Free active. Existing requests and financial safeguards remain in Free, and premium settings are retained so Pro can be reactivated. Only new Pro features stop being offered.
-
Do I need product weights?
-
Free manual parcels do not require weights. Pro requires recorded weights when per-kg pricing or a positive weight limit is enabled. Weights are captured when goods are purchased. Older purchases without recorded weights can use flat pricing with no weight limit, or a manual parcel.
-
What happens on deactivation or uninstall?
-
Pause new holds and fulfil or migrate outstanding purchases before deactivating Free. Orders, payments and shipment metadata are retained. Free uninstall removes its settings and schedules; reactivation makes retained held records manageable again. Deactivation does not refund payments or send goods.
