Description
DawsonyWeb – Print Label Designer is a visual label designer for WooCommerce. Create reusable layouts for dispatch addresses, product labels, picking lists and sticker sheets. Use the order details already in your store, preview a label and download a PDF ready to print at actual size.
Design once, use it again
- Text, local Media Library images, rectangles, lines, QR codes and Code128/EAN barcodes.
- WooCommerce order, shipping, billing, product, item and custom metadata bindings, with fallbacks and formatting.
- Millimetres or inches, custom sizes, A4/Letter sheets and partially used sticker sheets.
- Rotation, layers, undo/redo, duplication, alignment, optional grid and 1 mm snapping.
- One label per order, line item or whole-number quantity, plus combined manual PDFs.
- Template import/export, seven starter layouts, onboarding and a replayable designer tour.
- HPOS and legacy order storage through WooCommerce CRUD.
Keep PDF generation on your own site
PDF generation runs locally. No external PDF service, CDN, analytics or licence key is required. Downloaded PDFs may contain personal information; store and share them securely.
Optional automation with the separate Pro add-on
Optional Pro add-on: DawsonyWeb – Print Label Designer Pro is a separate plugin available from https://dawsony.com/plugins/dawsony-print-label-designer. It adds order-event rules, background generation, private document history, retention controls and dedicated email/manual print workflows. The Free plugin contains no licence-gated features or Pro installer.
Dispatch-address layouts are not carrier postage labels. Batch and best-before fields require configuration for your own product data. Printer transport is not included: open and print the downloaded PDF yourself.

FAQ
-
Do I need Pro or a licence to design and print labels?
-
No. All functionality supplied in this Free plugin is available without a licence, trial or payment.
-
Can I print address labels or buy postage?
-
You can design dispatch and address labels using WooCommerce shipping details. The plugin does not purchase postage, book carriers or generate carrier-approved shipping labels.
-
Can I use a thermal printer or A4 label sheets?
-
Yes. Set the label size to match your stock, or arrange labels on A4/Letter sheets with margins and gaps. Print the PDF at actual size using your normal printer software. Printer compatibility and borderless output depend on your printer and driver.
-
Yes. Export a design as JSON and import it into the designer on another site. Free sample templates and an import guide are linked above. Local image attachments may need to be selected again on the destination site.
-
Does it work with WooCommerce HPOS?
-
Yes. Orders are accessed through WooCommerce CRUD and both HPOS and legacy order storage have been tested.
-
Can I extend a coloured shape past the label edge?
-
Yes. A warning marks clipped elements but does not prevent output. Each label is cropped separately on sheets. Keep barcodes and important text inside the printable area. Borderless printing depends on your printer.
-
What happens on uninstall?
-
Templates are retained by default. To remove all DawsonyWeb – Print Label Designer data, including any retained Pro documents, explicitly set the printrelay_delete_data option to 1 before uninstalling. Back up first. Network-wide activation is unsupported.
-
What are the limits?
-
200 templates, 100 elements per template, pages from 10 to 500 mm, and up to 20 orders / 100 labels per manual PDF. Whole-number quantities are required. PNG/JPEG/WebP images must be local, under 10 MB and 20 megapixels; distinct images in a document share a 20-megapixel budget. WebP requires GD. DejaVu Sans regular and bold are included. Text overflow stops generation to avoid silently losing content.

Where can I find help?
