CyberSyn

Description

The CyberSyn plugin (developed by CyberSEO.net) is powerful, lightweight and easy to use Atom/RSS aggregation and content curation plugin for WordPress. The CyberSyn plugin has one very unique feature which allows you to import full text articles.

Features:

  • Automatically generates WordPress posts from Atom/RSS feeds and runs your site on autopilot.
  • Embeds videos from YouTube, Vimeo, Flickr, IGN, Ustream.tv and DailyMotion RSS feeds. Just enable the “Embed videos” option and the plugin will embed videos with descriptions directly into your posts.
  • Generates featured images (post thumbnails) from post images or media attachments.
  • Full Text RSS extractor is 100% free and allows one to import full-text articles. This feature is based on freeware GPL library by fivefilters.org. This built-in feature works right out of the box. No 3rd-party services or paid API keys!
  • Allows one to hotlink the syndicated post images or upload them to the server.
  • Allows one to embed media attachments (images and videos) into the posts.
  • Translates the syndicated articles from and to more than 100 languages via free Yandex Translate and premium Google Translate services.
  • Advanced RSS/Atom parsing algorithm has the ability to pull the feeds fully automatically. Furthermore, you can assign the updating period to each particular feed. Also you can set up a maximum number of posts that will be syndicated at once. This is a very useful feature for SEO of your blogs.
  • Adjustable post duplicate check by GUID, post title or both.
  • Allows one to add a user-defined HTML code (custom footers) to every syndicated post.
  • Converts character encoding if the source feed has a non UTF-8 one. E.g. KOI8-R, KOI8-U, Windows-1251, Windows-1256, Windows-1255 etc. Thus the plugin is compatible with all existing national character encoding systems.
  • The plugin can be scheduled by a server-side cron and by WordPress pseudo-cron.

Requirements:

  • PHP 5.2.4 or greater
  • MySQL 5.0 or greater
  • PHP mbstring extension
  • PHP cURL extension (recommended)
  • PHP variable safe_mode must be disabled (if cURL is not installed)
  • PHP variable allow_url_fopen must be enabled (if cURL is not installed)
  • Access to cron on server (recommended)

Reviews

Doesn’t include URL of original article in body

The plugin functions as advertised, but it is inadequate. Good syndication should include the URL of the original article in the body of the post. While the plugin does allow you to link to the original via your post title in an all-or-nothing way, that’s not a useful alternative for me. Google can read that play a mile away, associating it with content thieves. The better and safer alternative is a text link with the anchor text being the name of the original article.

Tried many, this one is easy and works!

This developer remembers that WordPress is for people, not just busine$$e$ and techs! Easy and full functions.

This is easy to set-up, full content and images, plus there are no basic features hidden by upgrades. I have 2 MultiSites, I do not Network Activate – only per site. The results are great, nicely formatted. I am still surprised after weeks.

I’ve struggled with these type of plugins for years: If I could set them up – not always, I would discover that they import an excerpt or partial content, no images, etc, or you have to do a steep paid upgrade like $50 per extra function per site. Never for even one site, it’s just my stuff – no profit.

DONATE!!! We should pay developers! Keep great plugins like this one maintained. Periodically $5-$20 here and there can make a difference.
Though, I can’t find how to donate to this one yet.

***Thanks to the dev for a free, well made, fully featured plugin!!

Excellent

I am using this plugin from last few months and found this one of the best plugin for any kind of blog. I will recommend this plugin.

Good enouph plugin

Really good. But it will be better if plugin provide possibilities to collaborate with it – by actions and filters. It could be used for deternination of names of downloaded images, for example, and many other cases.
