FAQ

Is this plugin free?

Yes! All core features are completely free with no limits, no pageview caps, and no watermark.

Does it work with caching plugins?

Yes. The consent banner runs entirely in JavaScript and reads consent from localStorage, so it works correctly with all major caching plugins.

Where is consent data stored?

Consent is stored in your WordPress database and in the visitor’s browser localStorage. No data is sent to external servers.

Does it block Google Analytics until consent?

Yes — in the free version, scripts tagged with a data-cookieclear-category attribute are blocked until the visitor gives consent. CookieClear Pro adds automatic detection and blocking without manual tagging.

Is it compatible with Google Consent Mode v2?

CookieClear Pro includes full Google Consent Mode v2 support. The free version does not include GCM v2.

Can visitors change their consent choice?

Yes — a floating “Manage Cookies” button appears after consent is given, letting visitors update their preferences at any time.

Does it support CCPA?

Yes. You can enable CCPA mode in General settings, which changes the banner text to a “Do Not Sell My Personal Information” style notice.
