Content Ninja – AI Content for WooCommerce and Blogs

Description

Content Ninja is an AI content generator for web shops and blogs. It writes SEO-friendly blog posts with AI images, improves your WooCommerce product and category texts, and publishes everything straight to your WordPress site – on schedule, without copy and paste.

This plugin is the secure, one-click bridge between your WordPress site and your Content Ninja account.

What you can do with Content Ninja

  • AI blog writer – complete blog posts with title, excerpt, category and images, written in your brand’s voice and based on your own products and pages.
  • Keyword research – blog topics chosen from what your customers search for, so every article targets a real keyword.
  • AI images – a featured image and in-article images are generated and uploaded to your media library.
  • SEO title and meta description – written into Yoast SEO or Rank Math for blog posts, WooCommerce products and product categories.
  • WooCommerce product descriptions – AI rewrites product descriptions, short descriptions and category descriptions; every change can be restored.
  • Auto publishing – publish at once, save as a draft in WordPress, or schedule posts ahead.
  • Social media content – Facebook and Instagram posts made from your products, in the same app.

What this plugin does on your site

  • One-click connection, no account password – you approve the connection in your WordPress admin, and the plugin issues a key of its own for Content Ninja and hands it over securely (server to server). No WordPress user password or application password ever leaves your site.
  • Blog posts with everything – title, content, excerpt, category, images uploaded to your media library and the featured image.
  • SEO fields – the SEO title and description of posts, WooCommerce products and product categories are written into Yoast SEO or Rank Math.
  • Login safety net – some plugins (for example Elementor Pro) resolve the visitor so early that REST logins fail. The plugin makes its own signed requests work regardless; other applications and your own logins are not affected.
  • Content only, never administration – the key is locked to content work: posts, pages, categories, media, WooCommerce products and product categories. It cannot install, change or remove plugins or themes, manage users, change settings or run updates – even if the approving user is an administrator.
  • Signed requests – the key itself never travels with a request. Each request carries an HMAC-SHA256 signature of the method, route, query, timestamp, a one-time value and the body, so a captured request cannot be replayed or modified.
  • You stay in control – the key only works while this plugin is active: deactivate it and the access stops at once. You can also disconnect on the plugin’s page at any time, and uninstalling removes the key.

The plugin is thin on purpose: it only handles the connection, the login safety net, the SEO fields and a status endpoint. Everything else uses the standard WordPress REST API.

A Content Ninja account is required. Content Ninja is a paid subscription service (https://getcontentninja.com); this plugin is free and only connects your site to it. Without an account the plugin does nothing.

External services

This plugin connects to Content Ninja (https://app.getcontentninja.com), the service that creates and publishes your content. It contacts the service in exactly two situations, both started by a logged-in user — never in the background, never on its own:

  1. When you open the approval screen from a connection link started in Content Ninja. What is sent: only the one-time connection ticket from that link. Why: to show you which Content Ninja workspace is asking for access, so you cannot be tricked into approving someone else’s request.
  2. When you click “Approve”. What is sent: the one-time connection ticket, your site address, the approving user’s login name, the key this plugin issued for Content Ninja (its identifier and secret), and the plugin and WordPress versions. Why: so Content Ninja can publish the posts you create there to this site.

Nothing else is ever sent: no analytics, no usage tracking, no update checks.

FAQ

Is the plugin free?

The plugin is free. It connects your site to Content Ninja, which is a paid subscription service (https://getcontentninja.com). Without a Content Ninja account the plugin does nothing.

Does it work with WooCommerce?

Yes. If WooCommerce is active, the same connection also covers your products: Content Ninja can read your products and categories, improve their descriptions and fill in their SEO title and meta description. Without WooCommerce the plugin works for blog posts.

Which SEO plugins are supported?

Yoast SEO and Rank Math. The SEO title and meta description are written into the plugin that is active on your site. Without an SEO plugin the posts are still published, only these two fields are skipped.

Does it work with Elementor and other page builders?

Yes. Some plugins (for example Elementor Pro) make REST logins fail on certain sites; this plugin’s signed requests work regardless.

Which languages are supported?

Blog posts are written in the language you choose in Content Ninja. The Content Ninja app itself is currently available in Hungarian.

Which user should approve the connection?

The posts are published in the name of the user who approves the connection. An Editor role is enough for blog posts; for WooCommerce products use a Shop manager or Administrator.

What is the key, and why not an application password?

The key belongs to this plugin, not to your WordPress account. It is created only after you click “Approve”, sent once over HTTPS directly from your server to Content Ninja, and it is only accepted by this plugin, only on the REST API, and only for the content routes listed below. Deactivating the plugin makes it useless immediately. An application password, by contrast, would keep working with the full rights of your user even with the plugin switched off.

What exactly can Content Ninja do on my site?

Only content work. Requests made with Content Ninja’s key are limited in three ways, enforced by this plugin on your own site:

  1. Allowed routes only: reading and writing posts, reading pages and categories, uploading media, reading and updating WooCommerce products and product categories (never deleting them), and the plugin’s own status endpoint. Every other REST route returns 403.
  2. No administrative capabilities: plugins, themes, users, settings, updates, file editing, import/export, unfiltered HTML and unfiltered uploads are removed for these requests.
  3. REST API only, only while the plugin runs: the key is never accepted on XML-RPC, admin-ajax or wp-login, and it stops working the moment the plugin is deactivated.

Your own logins and other applications are not affected.

What happens to sites connected before version 1.4.0?

They used an application password. After the update, the next time Content Ninja works on the site it swaps that password for a key, and the plugin deletes the password. You have nothing to do. Until the swap happens, the old password can only be used to request the key and to read the connection’s own status – it can no longer write anything.

How do I disconnect?

Open the Content Ninja menu in your WordPress admin and click “Disconnect”. Content Ninja immediately loses access. Deactivating the plugin has the same effect.

Changelog

1.4.0

  • Content Ninja no longer receives an application password. The plugin issues a key of its own, and every request is signed (HMAC-SHA256) with a timestamp and a one-time value, so requests cannot be replayed or modified.
  • The key works only through this plugin: deactivating the plugin stops the access immediately.
  • Sites connected earlier swap their application password for a key automatically; the password is deleted as soon as the key works.

1.3.0

  • Content-only access: Content Ninja’s application password is limited to content routes, loses every administrative capability and works on the REST API only.
  • Translations are delivered by translate.wordpress.org.

1.2.0

  • SEO fields on WooCommerce product categories: the SEO title and description of a product category can now be read and written (Yoast SEO, Rank Math).

1.1.0

  • SEO fields on WooCommerce products: the SEO title and description can now be written through the WooCommerce products endpoint too.

1.0.0

  • First release: one-click connection, login safety net, SEO fields (Yoast SEO, Rank Math), status endpoint.
