Source Code & Build Tools
VisibilityOS is fully open source (GPL-2.0-or-later). The compiled admin/editor
assets in the build/ directory are generated from the human-readable source in
the src/ directory using Node.js and @wordpress/scripts (webpack).
- Full source (including
src/, build config, and PHP) is available at: https://github.com/sumittejani/visibilityos - Build steps:
npm installthennpm run build(config inwebpack.config.js/package.json).
Third-party libraries bundled with the plugin retain their original headers,
name, version, and repository URL in their source files (e.g. the Freemius SDK
in freemius/).
External Services
Some optional AI-powered features connect to third-party services. These are
off by default — no data is sent until you enable an AI feature and provide
your own API key in the plugin settings. The free tier is fully functional
without any external service.
OpenAI (ChatGPT API)
Used to generate SEO content, meta titles and meta descriptions when you enable
AI content generation and configure an OpenAI API key. When you trigger a
generation, the plugin sends the prompt text you provide (e.g. the topic, title,
or content excerpt) and your chosen model name to OpenAI’s API. No data is sent
unless you actively request a generation.

Google Gemini (Generative Language API)
An alternative AI provider for the same content/meta generation features, used
only if you select Google Gemini and configure a Google API key. When you
trigger a generation, the plugin sends the prompt text you provide and your
chosen model name to Google’s Generative Language API. No data is sent unless you
actively request a generation.
