Click N’ Jump

Description

Elementor hides the WordPress toolbar, so getting from the editor to other parts of your site and back normally means several clicks through menus.

Click N’ Jump adds two things, free and with no limits:

  1. A Navigator button inside the Elementor editor. A small button at the bottom-left of the editor opens a short menu: Dashboard, Customize (Site Editor on block themes), SEO and Posts. Drag the button anywhere; it remembers its position.
  2. A “Back to Elementor” button in the WordPress admin toolbar, and inside the Customizer. After you leave the editor, one click returns you to the page or template you were last editing. In the Customizer the button is draggable, so you can move it out of the way; it remembers its position.

The SEO shortcut opens the settings of Yoast SEO, Rank Math, All in One SEO or SEOPress, whichever is active. It is hidden if none is found.

Good to know:

  • Links are ordinary links. Ctrl/Cmd-click opens them in a new tab, so you can keep the editor open.
  • Your work is saved first. When you pick a Navigator shortcut, the plugin asks Elementor to autosave, then leaves without the “unsaved changes” prompt. The autosave is Elementor’s draft copy, so a published page does not change until you click Update. If the save fails or takes longer than 8 seconds, you leave anyway and Elementor shows its usual prompt, so nothing is lost silently. Ctrl/Cmd-click opens a new tab and does not save.
  • Each user only sees places their WordPress role may open.
  • No external requests, tracking, accounts or license keys. No WordPress, Elementor or other plugin file is modified.
  • Without Elementor active the plugin does nothing.
  • Developers can add or change shortcuts with the cnjump_destinations and cnjump_enabled_destinations filters, add settings rows with the cnjump_settings_rows action, and add a label next to the settings title with the cnjump_settings_title action.

Privacy and removal

The plugin stores its settings and, per user, the ID of the last document opened in the Elementor editor. Nothing is sent anywhere. Deactivation keeps this data. Deleting the plugin keeps it too, unless you tick “Delete all Navigator data when the plugin is deleted” in Settings > Click N’ Jump and save before deleting. Only this plugin’s own records are removed. On multisite, settings are per site.

Installation

  1. Go to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin and choose the plugin ZIP file.
  2. Click Install Now, then Activate.
  3. Open any page with Elementor. The Navigator button appears at the bottom-left.
  4. Optional: Settings > Click N’ Jump to choose the shortcuts.
