Description
ChatNEX by ENEX is an AI assistant and AI chatbot for WordPress websites. Add a website chatbot for customer support, answer visitors’ questions from your published content and collect enquiries for your business. The connected ChatNEX service is operated by ENEX MB and uses OpenAI. You do not need your own OpenAI API key.
AI chatbot for website customer support
The service indexes your public website content and uses relevant information to answer customer questions. The visitor chat widget works on your WordPress pages while AI processing takes place on the central ChatNEX server.
- Website AI assistant: answer questions about the information published on your site.
- Customer support chatbot: help visitors find services, product information and contact details available in your content.
- Lead generation and enquiries: process visitor enquiries and voluntarily supplied contact details according to your assistant settings.
- Customizable chat widget: set the appearance, welcome message, quick questions and assistant tone.
- Lithuanian and English: choose the administration and visitor-widget language.
- No personal OpenAI API key: connect the ChatNEX service from WordPress settings.
Service plans and free trial
The plugin’s local configuration features do not require an upgrade.
An active connection to the external ChatNEX service is required for AI replies. New website projects receive 15 free service replies in total, not per visitor or per month. Further service usage costs EUR 10 per month or EUR 100 per year for one website project. Both subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. The displayed prices are final. ENEX MB can separately grant complimentary service access.
New automatically managed subscription projects include up to 1,000 successful AI replies per monthly service period, including on the annual plan, subject to the service terms and fair-use safeguards. Unused replies do not roll over. There is no automatic overage charge. The stronger trial model and economical subscription model are selected by the service; separately granted access may have different settings.

External services
This plugin connects to https://chat.enex.lt, operated by ENEX MB (Lithuania), for website registration, content indexing, AI responses, enquiries, service status and billing.
No ChatNEX service requests are made until an administrator explicitly connects the service in the plugin settings. Connecting sends the website URL, website name, plugin version, project identifiers and assistant settings. The service may visit publicly accessible website pages to build its knowledge index.
When the widget is enabled, visitors’ browsers send project identifiers, site and page URLs, plugin version and assistant settings for synchronization and periodic service availability requests. The first availability request is sent after approximately 3 seconds, then every 5 minutes while the page remains open. These requests also expose the connection IP address to the service as part of normal web communication.
When a visitor submits a chat message, their message, conversation identifier, language, page and site URLs, assistant settings, additional site-owner context and configured enquiry recipients are sent to ChatNEX. Visitors may voluntarily include contact information in their message. ChatNEX uses the content to respond and process enquiries. Conversation state is kept in browser storage; server-side conversation and enquiry records are handled by the service. Site owners must describe their own data processing and contact handling in their privacy notice.
The ChatNEX server uses OpenAI to process AI requests and website-content embeddings. OpenAI is contacted by the ChatNEX server, not directly by the WordPress plugin. Relevant message and website context may be included in those requests. OpenAI terms: https://openai.com/policies/terms-of-use/ . OpenAI privacy: https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy/ .
Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. Starting checkout or the subscription portal sends the project identifier and a server-side billing management token to ChatNEX, which creates a Stripe-hosted session. Payment details are entered on Stripe’s hosted page and are not stored by this plugin. Stripe terms: https://stripe.com/legal/consumer . Stripe privacy: https://stripe.com/privacy . Apple Pay and Google Pay availability depends on Stripe, the customer’s device, browser and supported payment method.
Contact info@enex.lt for ChatNEX service terms, privacy information, data requests or support. Review the service information at https://chatnex.eu/ before connecting. The plugin adds suggested privacy text to WordPress Settings > Privacy.
Before a purchase, an administrator separately confirms the current subscription terms, automatic renewal and immediate service request. The central service records the accepted version, time, interval and Checkout session reference. A withdrawal request sends the project billing capability, customer’s name and express withdrawal statement to ChatNEX. The acknowledgement is sent to the associated Stripe purchase email, not an arbitrary form recipient. No CAPTCHA is added by this plugin. Acknowledging a withdrawal does not itself mean a refund has already completed.

FAQ
-
Is this an AI assistant or a live-chat operator?
-
ChatNEX is an AI assistant and website chatbot. It generates responses using the connected service and your site’s information; it is not a human live-chat staffing service. Important answers should be checked and the assistant should be identified as AI to visitors.
-
Can I use the WordPress chatbot for customer support and lead generation?
-
Yes. Configure the assistant to answer website-related questions and handle enquiries using your website content and enquiry settings. Visitors may voluntarily provide contact details. Publish the relevant privacy notice before enabling the chat widget.
-
Do I need my own OpenAI API key?
-
No. AI requests are handled by the ChatNEX service. Do not enter passwords, API keys, payment card details or sensitive personal information in chat messages or assistant settings.
-
How do I cancel?
-
Open ChatNEX settings and select Manage subscription. Cancel in the Stripe-hosted portal. Disconnecting the service, deleting the plugin or removing the website does not cancel billing. If you no longer have WordPress access, contact info@enex.lt.
-
What happens when I disconnect or uninstall?
-
Disconnecting disables the widget and plugin communication with ChatNEX while retaining local settings for reconnection. Uninstalling removes local settings, consent and the billing token for this installation. It does not erase remote records, cancel subscriptions or clear visitors’ browser storage. Contact info@enex.lt about remote data deletion.
-
Can a consumer withdraw from a new contract?
-
Yes. Consumers purchasing outside their business or profession can withdraw within 14 days of a new contract and receive its full first payment back under the service terms. Open Withdraw from contract in ChatNEX settings, review the statement and confirm, or email info@enex.lt. This is different from cancelling the next renewal. If you lose access or reinstall and no longer have your billing capability, contact support with your website and purchase reference; do not purchase a duplicate subscription.
-
What languages are available?
-
The current administration interface and visitor widget include English and Lithuanian choices.
