Description
Many academies and training centres issue certificates with LearnDash, but students forget their password and cannot reach their certificate. Employers and auditors also ask to check them.
Cedulink Certificates adds a simple search form. The student types their ID number (for example, their national ID) and gets a table with every completed course that has a certificate, with a button to open the real LearnDash certificate PDF. No account or password is needed.
Features
- Shortcode
[hp_certificate_lookup]that works on any page or page builder. - Searches the user profile field you choose (for example

- Every certificate link is signed with your site’s secret key. Changing the user or course in the link makes it invalid.
- The certificate only opens while the student still has the course completed.
- Administrator, editor and other staff accounts are never opened through a public link.
- No login session or cookie is created for the student.
- Each visitor is limited to 15 searches every 10 minutes (filter
hpcl_rate_limit).

FAQ
-
Where does the ID number come from?
-
From a user profile field (user meta). Many registration, checkout and profile plugins save the ID number there. Enter that field’s key in Settings > Certificate Lookup.
-
Does the student need to log in?
-
No. The plugin creates a signed link to the certificate. When it is opened, LearnDash generates the PDF as that student for that request only, without logging them in.
-
Can someone see other people’s certificates?
-
Only by knowing their exact ID number, and only the certificates of completed courses. Links cannot be changed to open other students’ certificates. Decide whether the ID number is enough for your institution before publishing the page.
-
Does it work with quiz certificates?
-
The free version shows course certificates. Quiz certificates are included in HP LearnDash Toolkit.
-
Is LearnDash included?
-
No. LearnDash is a separate commercial plugin and must be installed and active.
