Description
Carfitly adds an AI-powered parts assistant to your WooCommerce store. Shoppers describe their vehicle in plain language – “engine oil for a BMW 320d 2016” – or enter an OE part number, and receive product recommendations drawn exclusively from your own catalog, with your best sellers first.
Why parts stores choose Carfitly
- Grounded in your catalog. The assistant can only recommend products that exist and are in stock in your store. It never invents products, prices or availability.
- OE-number exact matching. When a shopper enters a part number, Carfitly matches it against your product titles and SKUs deterministically, with normalization (“06L 115 562 B” matches “06L115562B”). Part-number questions are answered by exact matching – never by AI guessing.
- Careful fitment language. When compatibility cannot be verified from your product data, the assistant says so and advises the shopper to verify by OE number, instead of overstating certainty.
- Best sellers first. When several products match, your store’s most purchased items are recommended first.
- Your AI provider, your key. Connect OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude), Google Gemini, DeepSeek, xAI (Grok), Zhipu (GLM), Moonshot (Kimi), or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint. You pay your provider directly; API keys are stored encrypted in your database and are never routed through Carfitly’s servers.
- Multilingual. Widget interface in English, Lithuanian, German, Polish, Russian and Latvian – and the assistant replies in whatever language the shopper writes.
- Flexible placement. A floating assistant dock, a compact inline launcher via the
[carfitly_chat]shortcode, or a fully embedded panel with[carfitly_chat mode="full"]. - Add to cart from the chat. Shoppers add recommended products without leaving the conversation.
- Widget customization. Assistant title, welcome message, input placeholder, dock position and full widget colors.
Conversation insight
Every conversation is stored locally in your own WordPress database – nothing is sent to Carfitly. The Conversations screen shows the full history and statistics, chat-assisted revenue (order value that followed a chat interaction in the last 30 days) and the lost-demand report – every question that found no matching product, grouped and counted, so you know what to stock next.

Carfitly Pro — a separate product from carfitly.com
Carfitly Pro is a separately distributed version for stores that want zero setup:
- Managed Carfitly AI — the assistant runs on Carfitly’s own AI service: no API key, no provider account, nothing to configure (early access rolling out)
- Fair-use conversations included — no separate AI provider bill
- Priority email support with replies within six working hours
- Seven-day free trial
Pro is sold and delivered from carfitly.com; it is not required for anything this plugin does.
External Services
Carfitly connects to a third-party AI service to generate assistant replies. No data is transmitted anywhere until a site administrator selects a provider and enters their own API key.
For each chat message, the following data is sent to the AI provider selected by the administrator: the shopper’s message, recent messages of the same conversation, the store name, and short summaries (title, SKU, short description, price, categories, attributes, units sold) of up to 12 matching in-stock products. No customer accounts, order data or other personal data is transmitted.
Depending on the administrator’s configuration, requests are sent to exactly one of the following services, under that service’s terms:
- OpenAI – Terms of Use, Privacy Policy
- Anthropic (Claude) – Commercial Terms, Privacy Policy
- Google Gemini API – Terms of Service, Privacy Policy
- DeepSeek – Open Platform Terms of Service, Privacy Policy
- xAI (Grok) – Terms of Service, Privacy Policy
- Zhipu AI / Z.ai (GLM) – Terms of Service, Privacy Policy
- Moonshot AI (Kimi) – Open Platform Terms of Service, Privacy Policy
- Or a custom OpenAI-compatible endpoint explicitly configured by the administrator (under the terms of whatever service the administrator points it at).
This plugin does not connect to carfitly.com, Freemius, or any Carfitly server. The only external requests it makes are the AI requests described above, to the single provider chosen by the administrator.
The plugin sets one first-party cookie, cfy_assist (7-day lifetime), in the shopper’s browser when they click a recommended product in the chat. It is used only to attribute later orders to the assistant in the store’s own dashboard. It contains no personal data and is never sent to any external service.

FAQ
-
Which AI provider should I choose?
-
Any supported provider works. Fast, low-cost models (for example Gemini Flash-class or DeepSeek) are typically sufficient for product recommendations and respond in a few seconds.
-
Is customer data sent anywhere?
-
Conversations are stored only in your own WordPress database. Per request, only the shopper’s message and limited product data are sent to the AI provider you configured – see the External Services section for the full disclosure.
-
Does the assistant invent products?
-
No. It is restricted to products retrieved from your catalog for each question. If nothing matches, it says so. Part-number lookups are answered by exact matching, not by the AI.
-
Does it work in my language?
-
The widget ships in six languages (auto-detected from your site language or set manually), and the assistant replies in the language the shopper uses.
