Do I really need this plugin?

Not really, but Bad Behavior is an excellent plugin that blocks all kinds of incorrect access attempts to your website stopping a good amount of spam. This information is stored in a database. So, why not display how many access attempts have been stopped.
For one you have a ready reference to see how badly your blog is being hit and two wouldn’t you love to say that my blog is so popular that even spammers don’t want to leave it alone 😉
