Description
This plugin acts as a decoy to protect your website. It creates a fake login page at a path attackers frequently target (such as /admin) to trick automated bots and hackers.
Installation
- Upload the plugin files to the
/wp-content/plugins/aystat-honeypot-admindirectory or install the plugin through the WordPress plugins screen directly. - Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ screen in WordPress.
- Navigate to Settings -> Aystat Honeypot Admin to configure your decoy settings.

What happens when a bot tries to log in?

The bot’s IP address, user agent, and attempted credentials are logged in the database. If you enable the attempt limitation feature, the attacker’s IP will be blocked after 3 failed attempts.

Can I use /wp-admin as my fake path?

No. For safety and compatibility, the plugin prevents you from overriding reserved core WordPress paths like
/wp-adminor/wp-login.php.
