Assign Missing Categories

Description

If you have converted categories to tags and are now left with a lot of posts that have no category assigned (that show up with ‘Uncategorized,’ unlinked, as the category under Posts), you can use this plugin to assign the default category to all those posts at once.

Installation

  1. Upload the files to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
  2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
  3. Go to Posts → Assign Missing Categories

Simple but effective. Still works on my last version Wordpress. It’s not sofisticate and do his job. Obviously you must know what you are doing.

Struggled for days to assign post (custom post type) without categories to a category. Just changed line 61 to my custom post type. But it worked perfectly!
