Algoshop AI Sales Chatbot

Description

Help shoppers choose with confidence. Make more time for your customers.

A shopper has a question about sizing. Another wants to compare products. Someone else is checking delivery details before placing an order. These are moments when a little help can make shopping easier—and keeping up with every conversation can take a lot of your team’s time.

Algoshop brings AI shopping assistance, customer support, live chat, and on-site marketing together for your WordPress and WooCommerce store. Give shoppers useful answers around the clock, help them find products that fit their needs, and make the next step toward checkout easier to take.

Let AI handle everyday questions while your team focuses on conversations that need a personal touch. Reach visitors with helpful product content, relevant offers, and cart reminders as they browse. Then use conversation and campaign insights to see what customers need and improve how you serve them. It’s a way to support more shoppers without making every interaction another task for your team.

1. 24/7 AI shopping assistance and customer support

Be there for the questions that come before a purchase—and the ones that follow it. Whether a shopper is still exploring or already knows what they want, Algoshop helps them get useful information without waiting for your team to come online.

  • Help shoppers find their match: Use the shopper’s questions and your connected store’s product information to suggest relevant items. Give someone who is unsure where to start a clearer set of options to explore.
  • Answer the questions that hold up a purchase: Use your store’s knowledge base to explain product details, shipping, returns, and store policies. Help shoppers understand what they’re buying and what to expect.
  • Make the next step easier: Let shoppers select available variants and add products to their WooCommerce cart from the conversation, then follow a link to checkout. Bring product discovery and purchase steps closer together.
  • Help with orders and delivery: Customers can provide their order details to request order information. Tracking lookups are available where your connected services support them, helping with routine post-purchase questions.
  • Welcome shoppers in their preferred language: Support multilingual conversations so customers can ask questions in the language they’re comfortable using.
  • Make the assistant feel like part of your store: Customize its name, avatar, colors, welcome message, and suggested questions. Add store information and reference files so the AI has a useful foundation for its answers—not just a generic greeting.

2. Live chat: your team can step in when it matters

Some conversations need more than a quick answer. A shopper may want reassurance before buying, or a question may need your team’s expertise. Keep AI for the everyday work, with the option to bring a person into the conversation when needed.

  • Pick up with the context in front of you: Review conversations in one inbox and read what the shopper has already asked before replying. Your team can continue the discussion with a better understanding of the customer’s needs.
  • Take over for personal support: Switch an AI-assisted conversation to live chat to work through a complex question or help someone decide between products.
  • Set expectations about availability: Define your live chat hours so shoppers know when they can reach your team, rather than expecting a person to be online around the clock.
  • Let AI help when your team is busy: Configure the assistant to resume after a period of agent inactivity, so the conversation can continue when a team member is unavailable.
  • Offer another way to get in touch: Share the email, phone, and social contact links you’ve configured when customers would prefer a different contact method.

3. Proactive marketing cards: helpful nudges while shoppers browse

Not every visitor starts a chat. Some need to see how a product works; others need a reminder of the items they’ve picked or a relevant offer. Use on-site cards to bring that information into the shopping journey, with control over where and when it appears.

  • Show, don’t just tell: Use text, image, and video cards for product explanations, common questions, and demonstrations. Give shoppers useful detail while they’re deciding.
  • Help customers discover more: Feature bestsellers and related products in recommendation cards, making it easier to explore other options in your catalog.
  • Make offers more engaging: Create scratch-card, spin-to-win, and prize-grid coupon experiences. Customize their appearance and offer settings to fit your brand and campaign.
  • Bring attention back to the cart: Remind shoppers about the items they’ve added and give them a convenient link to checkout, so it’s easier to continue their purchase.
  • Make free shipping easy to understand: Show how much more a shopper needs to spend to reach your configured free shipping threshold, rather than leaving them to work it out.
  • Explain when an offer ends: Display a countdown for a genuine, scheduled promotion so shoppers can see the deadline clearly.
  • Choose the right moment: Set page and behavior-based targeting, timing, and display options to suit your shopping journey, instead of showing every message to every visitor.

4. Customer insights, performance tracking, and follow-up

Customer conversations can tell you where your store is working well—and where shoppers need more help. Bring those insights together with campaign activity to make your next service or marketing decision better informed.

  • Understand the questions behind the purchase: Review conversation history to spot recurring questions and revisit a customer’s previous needs before offering support.
  • See how shoppers engage: Follow chatbot activity and outreach performance in the Algoshop dashboard to understand how visitors interact with your chat and on-site campaigns.
  • Get a clearer picture of your audience: Explore available region and device breakdowns to better understand who is visiting your store.
  • Give interested shoppers a way to stay in touch: Use supported campaign forms to invite customers to share contact details for follow-up, with appropriate consent.
  • Put what you learn to work: Refine welcome messages, recommendations, and on-site offers using your insights. Share your configured contact and social links to help customers stay connected with your brand.

Getting started

Install the plugin, connect your Algoshop account, and set up your assistant in the Algoshop dashboard. Choose a look and greeting that fit your store, add the information shoppers need, and decide whether to show the chat across your site or only on selected pages. Connect WooCommerce to enable supported product, cart, and commerce features.

An Algoshop account is required. WooCommerce is optional for basic chat and required for WooCommerce-powered features. Available features and usage limits depend on your plan, store connection, and enabled services. AI answers rely on the information available to it; review your knowledge base and settings before going live.

Shortcode and block

  • Shortcode: [algoshop_chatbot]
  • Gutenberg: add the Algoshop Chatbot block
  • Optional attribute: [algoshop_chatbot store_id="..."] must match the connected Store ID when set

External services

This plugin connects to Algoshop SaaS to connect your store and provide the
chatbot, AI replies, and supported commerce features. When WooCommerce is
connected, relevant store data is made available to those features.

  • Service: Algoshop SaaS (https://algoshop.ai,
dashboard, and the configured API endpoint; the
    default is https://api.algoshop.ai).
  • Purpose: account and store connection, chatbot delivery, AI replies, and
    WooCommerce-powered product or cart features.
  • Data: store identifiers and connection details; shopper messages and relevant
page, product, cart, and browser context; and, when WooCommerce is connected,
the store data needed for the enabled commerce features.
  • When: when a merchant connects or manages the plugin, and when a shopper uses
the chatbot or a connected commerce feature.

The storefront widget also requests approximate location data from
ipapi.co when it loads. The request sends the visitor’s
public IP address to identify a country/region and city for localization and
location-based experiences. The returned location information may be sent to
Algoshop with relevant chat or marketing context. See the
ipapi privacy policy.

When a merchant configures an image outreach card with media hosted by
Algoshop, the shopper’s browser retrieves that configured media from Algoshop’s
object storage, currently hosted at
https://ai-chatbot.tos-ap-southeast-1.volces.com. The request is made only
when the corresponding image card is displayed and sends the media URL and the
shopper’s standard network request metadata to the storage provider. The
plugin’s built-in fallback artwork is bundled locally and does not contact
object storage.

Source code and build instructions

The chatbot runtime in assets/storefront/ai-chatbot.js is readable source code,
not a minified build. PHP, JavaScript adapters, the launcher and page-context
runtime are also included in readable form and require no compilation.

The source JSON catalogs are included in source/commerce/catalog/. The generated
commerce localization runtime is included in
assets/storefront/generated/commerce-i18n.js. The installed plugin does not run
Python or build assets; development-only build tooling is not part of the
distribution package.

Lottie source and build instructions are documented in LOTTIE-NOTICE.txt.

The optional clickable Algoshop credit is disabled by default. A site
administrator can explicitly enable it in Settings > Algoshop Chatbot.
