Description
Doxi is an AI assistant that talks to your site’s visitors: it answers questions, shows your products, collects contact details and, when needed, hands the conversation over to someone on your team.
This plugin connects your WordPress site to your Doxi assistant. You don’t need to copy keys or edit your theme:
- Enter the email address you use to sign in to Doxi.
- Paste the code we send to that email.
- Done: the chat appears on every page of your site.
You can choose pages where the chat should not appear.
A Doxi account is required. The plugin does not work without one.
External services
This plugin connects to Doxi, a service provided by DOX, to link your site with your assistant and to make the chat work. It uses two servers: api.ai-bots.us and chatbot.ai-bots.us.
The plugin does not contact Doxi until you click the button to receive your code.
What is sent, and when:
- When you request your code: the email address you entered and your site’s address (for example
example.comandwww.example.com) are sent toapi.ai-bots.us, to find your account and email you the code. - When you click Connect: the email address, the code and your site’s address are sent to
api.ai-bots.us. Doxi replies with your assistant’s key, which the plugin stores on your site. - Once connected, on every page of your site: each visitor’s browser loads the chat from
chatbot.ai-bots.us. When a visitor writes in the chat, their messages (and anything they choose to share: voice notes, images, or their location if they grant permission) are sent toapi.ai-bots.usso the assistant can reply.

Installation
- In WordPress, go to Plugins Add New Upload Plugin, choose the plugin zip file and click Install Now.
- Click Activate.
- Go to Settings Doxi, enter the email of your Doxi account and click the button to receive your code.
- Paste the code you received by email and click Connect.
FAQ

Do I need a Doxi account?

Yes. The code is sent to the email address you used to create your Doxi account, and only if that address has been verified.

I didn’t receive the code

Check your spam folder. The code is valid for 15 minutes: if it expired or never arrived, request a new one from the same screen.

Can I use the same code twice?

No. Each code works only once, and only for the site it was requested from.

I connected Doxi but I don’t see the chat

If you use a caching plugin, clear its cache: pages cached before you connected don’t include the chat. The plugin tries to clear it automatically for WP Rocket, W3 Total Cache, WP Super Cache and LiteSpeed Cache.

What happens if I deactivate the plugin?

The chat stops appearing on your site. If you activate it again, it stays connected: there’s no need to request a new code.

Does it work on sites that are not built with WordPress?

This plugin is for WordPress only. On any other site, Doxi is installed by pasting a line of code that you’ll find in your Doxi dashboard.
