Infovarious Access Trend

Description

Infovarious Access Trend counts page views in your own database tables and shows them in the WordPress dashboard and on your site.

Statistics

  • Dashboard widgets: daily, weekly, monthly and yearly bar charts, top posts, referrer domains, real-time visitors, “popular now” and today’s ranking.
  • A statistics admin page (Dashboard > アクセス集計) with period filters and CSV export.
  • Referrer domains (only the domain, for example google.com; never the full URL).

Popular posts on your site

  • Shortcodes [ivat] and [ivat_ranking] (same attributes as [wpp]: range, limit, post_type, thumbnail_width, thumbnail_height, stats_views, offset…) and template function ivat_get_mostpopular() to show a ranking with thumbnails.
  • Shortcode [ivat_views] and template function ivat_get_views() to show the view count of a post.

Link click tracking (optional, off by default)

  • Records clicks on internal links, external links and mailto/tel links, aggregated per post, day and destination.
  • Lists with period and type filters, an estimated click-through rate (clicks divided by the post’s page views) and CSV export.
  • Click map: shows where on a page visitors click, for desktop and mobile, drawn over the page.
  • Retention period setting (1 to 60 months). Older records are deleted automatically.

Built for cached sites

Counting is done by a small script in the visitor’s browser that sends a request to admin-ajax.php, so it keeps working behind page caches and CDNs such as Cloudflare.

Privacy

  • No cookies are set. Raw IP addresses and user agents are not stored.
  • The visitor’s browser uses sessionStorage (not a cookie, cleared when the tab is closed) only to remember that a post has already been counted in this browsing session. Nothing is read from it by the server.
  • The visitor IP address is read from the request (the CF-Connecting-IP header when the site is behind Cloudflare, otherwise REMOTE_ADDR) only to compute the hash described below, and is never written to the database or logs.
  • To avoid counting reloads and to power the real-time widget, a one-way hash of the visitor IP address, salted with a secret key of your site, is kept: the latest hash per post and day, and for no longer than 24 hours one hash per visitor and post.
  • Click statistics are not recorded for visitors who send “Do Not Track” or “Global Privacy Control” (can be switched off in the settings).
  • Bots, browser prefetch/prerender requests and logged-in administrators (optional) are excluded.
  • No data is sent to external services.
  • A suggested privacy policy text is added under Settings > Privacy.

Import

  • Import past daily page views from WordPress Popular Posts (read-only).
  • Import referrer data from the Matomo plugin’s tables (read-only).

FAQ

Does it work with page caching or Cloudflare?

Yes. Page views and clicks are sent from the browser after the page has loaded, so cached pages are counted too.

What data is stored?

Daily counts per post, referrer domains, link click counts and click position counts (a grid of 20 columns by 100 rows). See the Privacy section above for the IP address hash.

Are link clicks recorded by default?

No. Link click and click map recording is off until you turn it on in Dashboard > リンククリック (link clicks).

How do I show a popular posts list?

Use [ivat range="weekly" limit="5"] (or [ivat_ranking ...]) in a post or page. In a theme template: <?php ivat_get_mostpopular( array( 'range' => 'weekly', 'limit' => 5 ) ); ?>.

To show a later part of the ranking (for example 5th to 10th place), add offset: [ivat_ranking range="all" offset="4" limit="6"]. Rank numbers continue from the offset.

Can it replace the [wpp] shortcode of WordPress Popular Posts?

Most [wpp ...] attributes also work with [ivat ...], so you can simply rename the shortcode. If you would rather keep [wpp ...] in your posts, add add_filter( 'ivat_register_wpp_shortcode', '__return_true' ); to your theme or a small plugin. It is off by default and is ignored while WordPress Popular Posts is active.

How do I exclude administrators?

Logged-in administrators are not counted by default. You can change this in the settings on the statistics page (アクセス集計).

What happens to my data when I delete the plugin?

Nothing, unless you turn on “Delete access data when the plugin is deleted” in the settings. Deactivating the plugin never deletes data.
