Larvabot

Description

Larvabot finds people online who are asking for what you sell, drafts a reply for each, and finds local businesses worth a personal email. Its reports show which of those emails, replies, directory listings and backlinks actually brought visitors to your website.

Those reports need a small snippet on every page of your site. This plugin adds it for you, without editing your theme or pasting code into a header plugin.

What it does

  • Adds the Larvabot visitor snippet to every page of your site.
  • Connect to Larvabot: one click, pick your project, done. Or paste your tracking key by hand.
  • Disconnect any time: the snippet is removed from your site. Deactivating or deleting the plugin removes it too.

What it doesn’t do

  • No cookies, no local storage, no fingerprinting, and no IP addresses are stored.
  • No ads, no tracking of your WordPress admin activity, and no calls from your server to Larvabot.
  • No settings to tune. It does one job.

You need a Larvabot account to see the reports. Larvabot has a 14-day free trial, no card required.

External services

This plugin adds a script from Larvabot (https://larvabot.com/t.js) to your site’s pages. The script is what makes Larvabot’s visitor reports work.

  • What is sent, and when: each time a visitor views a page, their browser sends Larvabot your project’s tracking key, the page path, and, on the first page of a visit, the referring page and the page’s query string (for example ?ref= and utm_ tags). Larvabot records the visitor’s country from the connection, but doesn’t store IP addresses. The script sets no cookies and uses no local storage.
  • Connect to Larvabot: when you click Connect, your browser opens app.larvabot.com with your site’s address, so you can pick the matching project. Larvabot sends your browser back to this settings page with that project’s tracking key.

The service is provided by Larvabot: Terms of service, Privacy policy.

Installation

  1. Install and activate the plugin from Plugins Add New (search for “Larvabot”).
  2. Go to Settings Larvabot and click Connect to Larvabot.
  3. Sign in to Larvabot if asked, pick your project, and click Connect. You’re sent back to WordPress and the snippet is live.

Prefer to paste? In Larvabot open your project Setup Tracking, copy the snippet or the key, and paste it into the Tracking key field.

If you use a caching plugin, clear its cache once after connecting.

FAQ

Do I need a cookie banner for this?

The snippet sets no cookies and stores nothing in the visitor’s browser, and Larvabot doesn’t store IP addresses. Whether you need a notice depends on your country’s rules and your other tools; mention Larvabot in your privacy policy either way.

How do I know it’s working?

Click Check now on your project’s Setup page in Larvabot (under Tracking): it shows the snippet as installed, and Live test confirms a visit arrives. Visits then appear in Reports. Settings Larvabot shows which project is connected.

Does it slow my site down?

The script is under 1 KB and loads with defer, so it never blocks your page from showing.

Does it work with caching and optimization plugins?

Yes. Clear the cache once after connecting so cached pages include the snippet.

Can I use it on more than one site?

Yes. Each site connects to its own Larvabot project.
