This plugin monitors Contact Form 7 submissions and logs submission, validation, repeater, and file upload events to help administrators troubleshoot form-related issues.
It can record:
- Contact Form 7 submission stages and final status.
- Validation failures and invalid fields.
- Mail success and mail failure events.
- WordPress wp_mail() errors associated with a submission.
- Browser-side Contact Forms status events, relevant network failures, and relevant JavaScript errors.
- Repeater-related submission and validation information.
- Multiple-file upload validation and PHP upload errors.
- Drag-and-drop file uploader AJAX activity.
- Request URL, referrer, IP address, user agent, and detected email address for troubleshooting.
The plugin stores logs in dedicated database tables and provides an administrator screen with filtering, detailed event timelines, retention settings, and optional deletion of logs during uninstall.
Requirements
- WordPress 6.2 or later.
- PHP 7.4 or later.
- Contact Form 7.
Support for repeater and drag-and-drop upload events is optional and is enabled when the corresponding third-party add-ons are present.
Privacy
MH Submission Diagnostics for Contact Form 7 can store diagnostic information including the submitted email address when detected, IP address, user agent, request URL, referrer URL, form information, submission status, and event details. This information is stored in the site’s WordPress database and is controlled by the site administrator.
Site administrators should disclose this logging in their site’s privacy documentation where required.
Installation
- Upload the
mharisart-submission-diagnostics-for-contact-form-7folder to/wp-content/plugins/, or install the plugin ZIP from the WordPress Plugins screen. - Activate Contact Form 7.
- Activate MH Submission Diagnostics for Contact Form 7.
- Open Contact Forms Logs in the WordPress admin area.

Does this plugin send data to an external service?

No. The plugin stores diagnostic data in the site’s own WordPress database.

Can I control how long logs are kept?

Yes. Open Contact Forms Logs > Settings and set the retention period. Set it to
0to keep logs indefinitely. -
Can logs be removed when the plugin is uninstalled?

Yes. Enable Delete Logs on Uninstall in the plugin settings. This is disabled by default.

Does it replace Contact Form 7?

No. It adds diagnostics and logging around Contact Form 7; it does not replace the form plugin.
