XMLRPC.PHP Writer Error

    Hi,
    I installed Windows Live Writer and I tryed to set up my WordPress blog with it… But when I must to select a provider and I choose WordPress 2.2+ and path of the xmlrpc file and click next I receive a error like this : “xmlrpc.php”->”Error 406″…
    If I try to open xmlrpc.php file from browser I see the following message: “Internet Explorer cannot read this webpage format”… I can read it only if I change its name…
    Ok, what Can I do to can set it up with Writer?

    I’m not sure what an error 406 is for Windows Live Writer (WLW). Normally WLW would detect the correct URL for the XML-RPC end point. What’s the URL of the blog you are trying this with?

    ill bet your host disabled loading pages with the pattern xmlrpc in the filename.

    406 is a fairly common mod_security response.
