wordpress.com stats

Please help. I’ve been reading and reading the forum to try and figure out why the blog stats are not recording.

I’ve deleted the plugin reinstalled it and still nothing. I keep getting the message The API key belongs to the wordpres.com account of______. If this is not your acct, pleaes reenter the API Key. Well this is an acct of mine. How do I finally get this to work.

I’ve read about adding something to your theme page before the body tag, but I have no idea what the forums were talking about.

Please help
