Your theme may be incompatible or broken. Rename the arras-theme folder in wp-content/themes. This should activate the default theme.
Go directly to login and check that Twenty Eleven now is your theme.
Reinstall your preferred theme, latest version, and try ahain. If same problem, contact the theme author.
It might also be a plugin. Temporarily rename your plugins folder via FTP, which will deactivate all plugins.
When everything fails, restore backup.
It’s always a best practice to deactivate all your plugins
Change to default theme
Backup your data
And only upgrade 🙂

Can you rename the wp-content/themes/arras-theme to arras-old? Via your FTP client or shell access? Right after that, see if that lets you in.
i found the file and removed no luck, renamed arras-theme to old, no luck. any new ideas?
i was able to ftp in and delete the arras theme. this allowed me to log in and change theme.
