    By default the dashboard’s screen layout is srt to 2 columns. How do I make it 1 column by default instead (for all users)?

    Any ideas?

    add this to your functions.php file in your theme:

    function change_dashboard_layout() {
    return 1;
}
add_filter( 'get_user_option_screen_layout_dashboard', 'change_dashboard_layout' );
