Redirection Problem after Permalink Change

    Hi –

    First, John, great plugins — longtime user and supporter.

    We are using Redirection on a site where our content administrator changed the permalink in admin for a page, then decided to change it back to the original link (was /careers/, changed to /fund-administration-careers/, then back to /careers/).

    Problem is that with Redirection on, we get the “… the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.” error.

    Please advise.

    Hi Scott,

    Redirection doesn’t pay attention to the permalink structure so I don’t know why that would affect anything. The message indicates there is a loop. Is there anything in your redirections that would create this?

    Oddly, I turned Redirection back on and the problem came back, even though there are no redirections set for that specific page or URL with the problem.

    So, if Redirection does not deal with permalinks, then I am thinking there must be something going on in the database. If you have any ideas about what we could check, that would be appreciated.
