Everytime i try to upload a plugin from within my site it says that it is unpacking the package but it never does and when i try to ftp the plugin it shows the files uploading but the plugin never uploads.
Why is this happening?

If you can't unpack the files with the internal installer and you can't complete a manual upload via FTP, then it sounds like something is wrong with your server. You should probably contact your hosting provider's support department.
