    Hi,

I am just wondering how is the image security in Nextgen?

At least it seems that one can see the picture link and use that directly.
I am using Nextgen together with Gallery2 (same files) and noticed that G2 uses htaccess file to protect the files. Unfortunately I was not able to make htaccess so that Nextgen could access the files so I had to remove the htaccess for time being.

    So my questions are:
    – is there any means to protect the images in Nextgen?
    – does Nextgen support having images outside “document root” i.e. public_html?

Pity to see that Alex is answering other things put skipping this kind of security issues…

Might be that I am overreacting put e.g. ability to have images outside doc root would be very handy.

You must add the tag “nextgen-gallery” otherwise I will not get any note that you post a request (I seldom crawl thru the forums)

    To you request :
i never study the “image protection” of Gallery2 so far.

No currently it must be inside wp-content, later on I will look up for a more flexible version.
