   I'm using version 5.0.51 on http://www.backstagefashionreports.com/events

   The events are showing are always sorted by start date ascending. I can't change this to Descending, even though I set it like that in the settings.

   The page Events has CONTENTS in its content and is used as the default page for showing events.

   I don't know what I'm doing wrong, since I've checked all options.

   Only way to solve this (imo) is to manually add a shortcode which displays the events (but then I loose the pagination, if I'm not mistaken).

   sorting should work. could you paste a screenshot of your settings?

   you can try to use All Descending option because if you use Descending,Ascending,Ascending option it will only sort the start date and the rest is ascending (start time and event name)

   what about using a shortcode or widget, is this only limited to your events page?

   If i use a shortcode, will I still have pagination ? I thought not, but not sure have to test it (but not today)

   yes, add this pagination=1

   thanx that works.... but still confused why general settings are not picked up

    might be that the dev version fixes something to do with your issue.
