• Hi,

I am new to wordpress but need to use it in a project for the company I am working for.

I would like to have a development version that can be migrated to production once the development work is done and testing signed off.

I can see there is an option to export the contents of the site and import it to another wordpress instance. The option is for everything though and I want the site itself to migrate (pages, settings) but not the users and posts etc.

Is there a way of specifying that I do not want this information to be included in the export or is the simplest way to just dump the tables direct from one database and restore them to the other?

    Kind Regards

    Kevin

  • I’d review Moving WordPress and backup your files and database, then restore the files and database at your ‘live’ host, then delete what you don’t want.

The Export/Import will not transfer your settings/options.
