Javascript Navigation in Blix Header

I am trying to add in a standard javascript pull-down navigation into the area between the BLIX navigation and the search bar. (I have additional links that only appear on the sidebar).

The problem is that I know more old hat html than I do php, so everytime I add it in there, the formatting goes haywire. I have gotten the form to exist in the page, but everything from adjusting the css to blenging it into the header’s nav coding just won’t seem to go smoothly.

If anyone has experience with the blix header and to where I might insert the code, or if the pull-down needs to be its own php page to be inserted, or anything.
