Hi, I just installed WordPress for the first time today. I had it up and running fine and installed a custom theme, which I altered a bit. I didn’t do much, except change the background and add a header image.

Well, I didn’t add the right image at first and I put the right one in header.php. It didn’t show up though unless I clicked a link that I had messed up, which was http://www.1337mama.com/blog/www.1337mama.com

For some reason, that had the right image and the corrected link from above. Well, I waited an hour in case it was a slow server issue – of course I cleared my cache and all that. I was tired of waiting, so I deleted my header.php from my blog’s folder and put it right back in.

That’s when the database errors started coming. After messing around with both my database and the wp config file and seeing nothing but a white screen when I went to 1337mama.com/blog, I deleted everything and copied my original blog folder back onto my server like before. I went to run that one install php file – it couldn’t establish a server connection and it gave me the error “Error establishing a database connection”.

Now I can’t even access anything to get my blog reinstalled/running again. I redid my server password and added it to my config file, but that didn’t help. I have no idea what to do now. Any help would be greatly appreciated! 🙂

Nevermind. I gave up on the manual stuff, went back to my host’s wordpress manager, deactivated it, and started all over. Thankfully I only lost one post haha. BUT the good news is, I didn’t have to fuss with the theme. I just made my changes before I coped the folder over and it was immediately perfect.

    Yay. 🙂
