• Last week I was using WordPress with no problems. Don’t know if I changed something in my set up or not, cause…

    Today I get this error.

    DB Error: connect failed
Please check mysql login, password and database name in config/config.php.

I checked the config file and everything seems to be fine.

(Don’t know if it matters, but I was using WPManagerDX to create or alter the WordPress settings)

    Any suggests?

    Thanks

  • Hi,

Check you have applied correct database and username in wp-config.php file and also check that you have assign required permissions to the database user from the hosting control panel..

    – If all are ok then restart MySQL service and have a check

    Thanks,

    Thanks Shane for the comments.

I think everything looks okay, but I don’t know how to restart MySQL.

I am on a MAC. I searched Google for help and while it was there I didn’t understand it thoroughly enough to try it.

If I can’t get a simple way to restart it, can I just delete the DB and create an identical one?

I also am using HOst GAtor if that is any help to you.

    Thanks
    BRuce
