• Hi

My site http://christian-dating-service-plus.com/ keeps exceeding CPU usage at bluehost..I use WP 2.1..They told me it’s the scripts on my side…I use plugins: angsuman translator, wpcach, askimet, podpress..No www, and a redidicet from index.php to /.
My logs shows: hundreds of these:
    Thu Apr 5 04:51:13 2007: used 0.05 seconds of cpu time for HTTP Request: christian-dating-service-plus.com : GET / HTTP/1.1

I go down 1000kb as day…in last few days…can somebody help? I will gladly pay to optimize my scripts, if that is the problem….Thanks so much

    God bless,

    David

  • I had problems with WordPress and bluehost too, the same thing with using too much CPU. It’s nonsense – they’re just tight. I now use dreamhost, much better, no problems whatsoever.

Incidentally I cut down on bluehost to a barebones WP install, still got the same thing past 1500 hits/day.

I guess that’s why it’s very important to ask any prospective hosts about whether they really can support a dynamic platform such as WP. And maybe do some research on them too, because I’m sure a lot of them will just say “yes” to get your money. But by the time you’ve signed the agreement, it’s too late. Then the often clueless buggers blame your publishing platform.

As always, you get what you pay for.
