Hi, i've tried to install wordpress several times over the last few days only to recieve the same error. I've tried various fixes suggested on the internet but none has worked. Doing a web serch on portions of the error code has led me to find many blogs that are also stuck at this stage, so i know i'm not the only one. Can someone please help.

    I'm using:
    php - 5.2.5
    mysql - 4.1.7
the install is a [url removed to prevent nastiness]
and the error I get is:

WordPress database error Table 'Dan1M_MSR.wp_options' doesn't exist for query INSERT INTO wp_options (option_name, option_value, autoload) VALUES ('cron', 'a:2:{i:1228396339;a:1:{s:17:\"wp_update_plugins\";a:1:{s:32:\"40cd750bba9870f18aada2478b24840a\";a:3:{s:8:\"schedule\";s:10:\"twicedaily\";s:4:\"args\";a:0:{}s:8:\"interval\";i:43200;}}}s:7:\"version\";i:2;}', 'yes') made by add_option WordPress database error Table 'Dan1M_MSR.wp_options' doesn't exist for query INSERT INTO wp_options (option_name, option_value, autoload) VALUES ('random_seed', '8056dbc3adfcfab73f4f2067f4fc5ff2', 'yes') made by add_option WordPress database error Table 'Dan1M_MSR.wp_options' doesn't exist for query INSERT INTO wp_options (option_name, option_value, autoload) VALUES ('auth_salt', 'd!RFKe8)e(*9', 'yes') made by add_option

my guess is the windows server is not configured properly for mysql integration
can your host switch you to a linux server? all of your scripts would run better and faster

I have several other sites with the same host that asp.net so with MSSQL databases serving them. I'm really trying to evaluate moving several of my sites over to use wordpress so moving server at the moment isn't really an option. Is there any other way of fixing this?

These other sites you have with this host, are they on the same server and do they use the same plugins? If they do, then this one install has something different. Is the account authorized to use cron (some hosts charge extra for some greedy reason)? You've tried reinstalling the plugins to try and get the tables recreated (if it's a plugin thing at all!)?

I agree with Samboll. Why use windows? Especially since you're evaluating WP it should be in its native environment. If these blogs are for personal use and you're already setup with windows then I understand, but you're forwarned that some of the magic doesn't sparkle on windows.
