Thanks. So I’m kind of new at this. I need the backup to move my site to another hosting site. Will this help and how does it work… if it’s not too much trouble. i mean do I download it to my computer of will it just take all my files and database from the site. I need help.

It has always worked flawlessly for me. It’s a plugin, so you just install it into your WordPress site, set up a backup path and then make a backup. The backup can then be downloaded to your computer using FTP or use whatever file management application your host provides.
Alternatively, see if your hosts have a database backup tool that you can use.

Sorry… I really feel dumb but I can’t figure out how to install it to the wordpress site. I have downloaded it to my computer and I see the dbc backup file but that’s where I’m stuck.

BTW – will this backup everything including the database?

We can’t really help with setting up the backup path. You should be able to obtain your hosting root path from your hosts. Once you have that, I can only suggest that you create a folder called backups outside of the publically accessible web folder called backups and use /path_from_hosts/backup in DBC. Once that is set up correctly, select Backup Now from the upper dropdown.
