• Hello,
I was trying to set up a background border around my website (www.beechin.com) so that I can change the background color of my site (and have a different color for the actual middle part (I know I’m not technically inclined and i’m sure the “middle part” isnt the right terminology!). I tried searching but honestly I wasnt sure what I’d be searching for. I’m trying to turn whats there right now into something like http://www.beechin.com/98/ . Anybody have any ideas?

Also on a side note, does anyone know if there’s some way to make everything on my site smaller (similar to what happens when you CTRL + Mouse Scroll) without having to change every single piece of code? I’d have no idea where to begin…

    Thanks for all your help!!

  • hey dude-

every thing you requested (i believe) is or can be controlled by your .css file.

You can go to w3c and take a quick course on how that works. It is of extreme importance that you have a feel for this if you intend on managing your own layout.

There is a learning curve, but you will come out the other side a whole lot better and self sufficient. 🙂

    code on!

thanks drewactual for the help. i really appreciate it.

I took a look at w3c and I tried to find anything to help me out. Can someone point me in the right direction? I feel a little overwhelmed and I don’t know wehre to start. (i.e., tables, containers, image as background, columns) so much stuff!

any help would be greatly appreciated!

css… do the tutorial on css… you will be amazed what you will learn, the most important being that this stuff isn’t as hard as it seems.
