Auto-Drafts (7 posts)

I recently upgraded to WP3 and was shocked with the autodrafts. TBH, it's making a mess. I'd like my post-ids to be in an incremental fashion (I disabled autosaves and drafts because of that) but I noticed that WP 3 doesn't let me to do so by making autodraft automatically. So I downgraded to WP 2.9.2 but as a WP user, I'd like to have the updated one. Is it possible to have it disabled? due to my searches, the answer is "NO", but it's making restrictions and etc.
So am I supposed to use the older versions? Are the coming to updates going to make the same trouble for me?
    Thanks

Autodrafts are in place so that when you add images and other media to brand new posts, it has a post-id to attach to. Otherwise it can cause problems.

If you are using pretty permalinks, no one will really see the post-ids except you. I think you should not worry about the post-ids being incremental and stick with the 3.0 upgrade!!

I know what autodrafts are used for, but still insist on getting the incremental post-ids. Is there NO way to disable them? They really bother me, as autosaves do.

So this doesn't work in WP3 then? I haven't tried it.

Nope, Unfortunately it doesn't work. Urgh, I'm actually upset that I can't use the new 3.0.1 version. I thought everything COULD be customizable in wordpress.

hmm. It seems that wp is insisting not to make performance about this one. seems I have to migrate to blogger then.

I have the same problem iamtest had. Now, I'm still on 2.9.2 since I don't think migrating will be easy, so I'm still trying to find a solution.

The question is: is it the simple fact of loading the admin index page that triggers the autodrafts creation or is it the Quick Press section of the dashboard? If I uncheck the Quick Press in the dashboard screen options, will it still keep creating autodrafts?
