When I first installed Wordpress on two of my sites it worked fine, but shortly after I started getting timeouts when making posts or editing & saving existing posts.
If I save a post as a draft it behaves normally, but when I publish it hangs for a long time before eventually settling on a blank screen. But the post gets published and appears normally; I'm just not being directed back to whatever page I'm supposed to be.
This also happens when I edit a published post and save it. But the changes are made and saved and appear as they should.
Any idea what the problem might be? Server issue? A problem with the post.php file?
You don't say what version you are on.
But if you have not changed the software then maybe the host has changed something. Ask them - they'll say "No not us" then ask them again :)

Might have a look at Options -> Writing. Does you "white page" issue go away if you temporarily clear the "Update Services" field?

I cleared the update services, and the subsequent page loads right up.
Does that mean I have too many services listed there? I do have quite a few...
Well, either too many or one of them isn't responding in a timely fashion...
Google around a bit, there's a plugin that will run those in the background so as not to "hang" the blog. Darned if I can recall the name right now...
