I am looking for a script to replace the [very] old installation of Exhibit (http://redalt.com/ ) I have at http://www.invisible-movement.net/gallery/ . Exhibit was great, but I heard of various issues people had when upgrading from the one for WP 1.2 to the one for 1.5; and, as far as I know there's no version of Exhibit that's supposed to work with WP 2.x. I tried to ask the script author for help and nothing happened ( http://redalt.com/support/topic/34 ), not even though my site might be the biggest one using his respected plugin:(
Now, as the gallery has way too many pages and images, I was basically looking for something similar to Exhibit, something that would just make thumbnails for the images in a specific folder, add them to a post or a Page; show the full image on a new page or in a pop-up window without any sort of intermediate images that take up space on the server; and let me write a little description for each gallery page. No lighboxes, no fetching exif data, no descriptions under every image, no heavy javascript and godknowswhat at the frontend and backend etc.
Out of all the plugins I saw on http://www.wp-plugins.net , d13gallery looked most similar to Exhibit ( http://davwal5.coconia.net/ ), but it doesn't work on my server and it seems the author shut down the site yesterday.
I also wanted to try Singapore ( http://www.sgal.org/ ) but it might already be too complex for what I need. And, believe it or not, its download page on SourceForge suddenly doesn't exist.
Please, please, does anyone know of a plugin I could use or does anyone know how to modify my beloved Exhibit plugin? I am desperate and I am aware that I'm being slightly paranoid here, it's mostly because of the hours it took me to make all those gallery pages, upload images etc, I wouldn't like to blow everything up with one wrong move.
