Ensure you you use full urls (eg http://some_site.com/) when inserting links in WordPress.
I’ve been using wordpress for more than a year in case you’re under the assumption I’m new. But thanks for taking the time to respond.
Then have you tried the basic troubleshooting steps:
– deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
– switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
– re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.
I’ve tried all of the steps you’ve mentioned above but it seems as nothing’s working. I would assume that these would be a last resort effort – would it be safe to assume it’s than the theme causing this?
Again thank you for the quick response much appreciated
None of the above are a “last resort”. As I said, this is basic troubleshooting.
Well considering I’m no coder I assumed it was. Do you know of any FAQ pages on advanced wp troubleshooting?
There is no FAQ for this. Every site/issue is different. Have you carried out all of the steps I listed above?
