Request for page filter feature

I would like to request a new feature;
1) pages to have categories, and
2) have the possibility to add a filter for “the_pages”.

I tried it myself by changing a few lines in a few files in the wordpress framework and made it work.

The reason for the feature is that I want to filter out some pages for some users, i.e., I have one or two pages with private stuff that I dont want to share.

Is this the correct forum to request such a feature? And, of course, if my code can help anyone, I’ll share it.
