I can't get W3 Total Cache to work!

I’ve been trying forever but no matter what I do, I cannot get this plugin to work. This is the error message I keep receiving:

Page caching is not available: /home/*****/public_html/*******.com/wp-content/advanced-cache.php is not installed. Either the /home/******/public_html/*****.com/wp-content directory is not write-able or another caching plugin installed. This error message will automatically disappear once the change is successfully made.

I have deleted the other cache plugin I used previously, disabled a ton of plugins that I don’t need….I don’t know what else to do at this point.
