How can I delete photo Attachment Pages permanently?
-
I did a really stupid thing and started clicking the “Link Thumbnails to: Attachment Page” button when adding galleries to about 100 of my posts, and Google went through and indexed every single photo’s attachment page. The photo attachments all have similar names and descriptions to that of my posts, and as a result it’s really screwing with my Google Search placement.
I went through and changed all of the galleries to “Link Thumbnails to: Image File” on every individual post, but I can see that all of the Attachment pages still exist even though there’s no way to get to them now from the posts, and they continue to mess with my Google placement.
Is there any way to permanently delete these picture attachment pages, so that Google will see they no longer exist and unindex them?

In case an example helps:
By clicking the “Link Thumbnails to: Attachment Page” button on this main post page, I created this page: http://www.toyreviewdaily.com/2012/03/15/daily-toy-review-75-iron-man-the-avengers-movie-mini-muggs-action-figure-hasbro/20120315-124521-jpg/
I turned off the “Link Thumbnails to: Attachment Page” button on the gallery for the main post page, but the Attachment Page still exists and is still google indexed. I have over a thousand images turning up as Attachment Pages now even though there no longer exists any way to get to those pages through the main posts, and I don’t know how to delete the Attachment Pages.
The Media Library in my WordPress Dashboard will let me delete the images themselves, but doesn’t even acknowledge that Attachment Pages exist anywhere. All I want is to keep the images and get rid of the Attachment Pages that have been created for each one.
Can such a thing be done?
I’d like to do this, too! Can’t find any information anywhere on this!
