Trying to change my URL…

I’m trying to change the url of my blog to http://www.shoganart.com instead of http://www.shoganart.com/blogger So basically, I want just want to have my homepage to open up to the blog. I followed the steps from this site: http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/site-url/ but I still end up having my main homepage and the blog page ends up lacking color and design. Can anyone point out to me what else i need to do in order to make it work?
