• Resolved brk

I tried a search but didn’t find anybody having the same problem so far.

I added a page to my blog, after a first one that works a while ago, but I can’t add any others that can be found once published.

I suspect some kind of permalink problem as I encountered a few days ago and easily solved thanks to this forum and to Samboll in particular.

I wonder if I can find the same help!

    Thanks!

  • YOu didn’t happen to create the page, and then change the title did you? Sometimes if the slug is different from the title that will happen.

Awesome, Mike, thanks. I just asked about this exact problem in a different thread, because I thought that it was part of a problem with a new plugin that I’d installed. Amazing that one title change can render every post, every page, and every category useless. Once I changed the slug to match the title, it’s all fixed. Thanks again.

Wow, I’m not sure, but I think I did.

I’ll come back for an update but I am happy that someone else found this thread useful already.

Unfortunately I tried to write a new page but it doesn’t work.

    Page not found

Please note that the first page that I made is still working nicely.

I still wonder what it is.

But thanks mklb for your time anyway.

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks!

All of your links work fine for me. The only page I see with an unmatching slug is the Reciprocal link partners page. It’s using “link-partners” for the slug instead of “reciprocal-link-partners.”

When you say “write new page”, did you create a totally new one and delete the old, or did you change the title of an existing page?

@ mklb: I deleted the old one and created an entirely new one…

@ ptvguy: I’ll check again, and let you know…

    Thanks for your time…

Actually, since you mentioned the link that has a different title, that’s the one that’s working. The only working page I created so far.

    I hope that helps…

    Thanks.

    Are you on Yahoo?
Things don’t seem to be working there right now.

    Mine isn’t.
I even changed directories and started clean to try and make things work.

No, I am not on Yahoo unfortunately (in the sense that the problem was solved if I was!).

    Any other ideas?

have you tried to reset your permalinks. *Sometimes* just clicking the update permalinks button can “fix” permalink issues.

    Can’t hurt, that’s for sure.

    You know what?

    It bloody worked!

I am so happy and so impressed by this support forum and by you people!

Special thanks to miklb that managed to solve my problem!

But thanks to everybody for their time. I hope all your blogs are hugely successful!

    Glad it worked 😀

Hopefully it will help someone else in the future when searching the archives.

And thanks for returning to let us know!

I’ve had this problem for ages too, exactly as brk described it.
When I did the permalink structure update I noticed my .htaccess wasn’t writable. As soon as I made it writeable it was fixed (without even updating the permalink structure again).

    Thanks guys!

(had to find this thread through Google, the “kick-but Yahoo search” on WordPress.org doesn’t seem to work at all. It needs it’s butt kicked 😉
