Broken link after uploading files with hash / pound symbol

If I upload a file with a hash (#) in it, then insert the link into the editor, I can post the link, but when I click on it I get “page cannot be displayed.”

Other than renaming the hundred or so files I have with pound signs in them, is there any way to fix this?

Also, note that I searched for ‘upload’ and ‘hash’ and ‘pound’ in various different ways before writing this post and found nothing on the matter. It seems I can’t search for “#.”
