Archive Queries

    I have a couple of queries, I’ve done a search of the site but I cant find anything about how to do either of these.

    Is it possible to create a category archive list page like this http://www.ginkgodreams.com/index/ginkgodreams/categories/ with wordpress? If so, is there any tutorials about how to do it?

    Secondly, how do I get my archives to display differently from the index page for example
    by month will be in excrept format like in my actuall blog

    by category will have to be in bullet format.

    Any help will be much appreciated!

    There is a plugin I use called srg_clean_archives that does the monthly archive list.

    Have managed to write the code required for most of this – using extract etc but getting a archives page that shows one or two entries out of each category like this still eludes me

    ginkgodreams.com/index/ginkgodreams/categories/
