only certain people can read entries in certain ca

is there something already existant, or in development, where you can assign only users of a level or higher to be able to read entries in a category?
for example, when i post to my private category, i dont want everyone looking at the entries, but i do want a few select people that i pick to be able to read those entries.. So is there any way to do that , or is that going to be part of the “better access control system” in development?
I just thought it’d be pretty useful.. at least to me 🙂
